Orientation for New International Students
Welcome to the 鶹ý community! We are excited to meet you online or in person as you begin your university life, no matter where you are in the world! Our international student orientation programming is a great way to start the semester. We are all here to support you!
International Student Orientation 2025
Halifax: International Student Orientation in Halifaxwill be held in-person on August 26 on Sexton Campus and August 27 on Studley Campus. The programming is the same for both days, so you can choose to attendone date or the other (or both,depending on which date/campus works best for you).
Orientation will includean introduction to 鶹ý, workshops designed to help prepare you for university life, and opportunities to connect with your fellow students. More details coming soon!
Truro:New International students on theare invited to join Student Success and upper year international students for International Welcome on August 28. This is an opportunity to connect with your fellow students, learn about campus supports (includingimmigration related supports), meet the AC mascot Rocky, and have fun as you adjust to life in Canada. International students can arrange early move-in to campus housing to allow for participation in International Welcome events (details coming soon).

Pre-arrival virtual info sessions for new international students
The International Centre is hosting helpful virtual info sessions for new incoming international students in collaboration with partners to help you transition to life at Dal.
Note: The following virtual meetings are in Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT). Please join these meetings using your 鶹ý NetID/email account, as non-Dal accounts will not be granted access. For information on how to activate your NetID, please visit theon the 鶹ý ITS website.

Nova Scotia ID/Social Insurance Number Clinic (Halifax campus)
In addition to International Student Orientation, the International Centre will host an in-person Nova Scotia ID and Social Insurance Number clinic on Thursday, August 28 from 9 a.m. to3 p.m.
Nova Scotia Photo IDs are analternative form of identification so you don’t have to carry your passport everywhere, andSocial Insurance Numbers (SIN) are necessary to work in Canada and do your taxes.
